It is probably sufficient if you have a supported chipset that can be
trusted (which can vary wildly from BIOS to BIOS, from what I hear).
I prefer gmirror though, even in the presence of "fake" raid, but it's a
matter of preference in some cases. For me, gmirror has been solid, and
it's easy to work with.
