It appears that some of us forgot that we're, for <deity>'s sake, supposed to be free software people! So how about, instead of discussing things to death, letting your code speak for you? How about the people who suggest a voting scheme first implement a prototype of it, and then describe to us what they have, rather than what they dream of? This will solve several problems: 1. People suggesting ideas they spent 2 minutes to think of. 2. People suggesting ideas that nobody will ever implement. 3. People suggesting ideas that are too difficult to implement. 4. People suggesting ideas that will be too difficult to use. 5. People suggesting ideas that they know nobody will want to use. Of course I'm not suggesting that this prototype needs to be the final version, bulletproof and with all the features. But it should be something that shows you're not one of the 5 types of people above, and will let the members see, almost for real, which voting method will be more convenient to them. Or, may I speak my wishes out loud, maybe somebody will, before writing a program like that, go and look at the available free software, and find something just like what we need? After all, I have the suspicion that we're not the only online group that needs to run votes. I also have the suspicion that other groups have similar needs to ours (simplicity, security, convenience, and so on). -- Nadav Har'El | Sunday, Jan 15 2006, 15 Tevet 5766 [EMAIL PROTECTED] |----------------------------------------- Phone +972-523-790466, ICQ 13349191 |"I don't use drugs, my dreams are http://nadav.harel.org.il |frightening enough." -- M.
