1) maybe you will allow everybody to suggest their ideas for projects and not only to those who obligate themselves to manage it. Some people might have good ideas which others would like to implement... 2) I think HaMakor should limit its funding to projects that specifically advance Open Source in Israel. With 30K NIS budget supporting of yet_another_module_X for yet_another_application_Y is not a good idea. Linet (accounting application) sponsored by ISOC - is a good example of what I mean (even though I think Web technology should be used for Web and not for Desktop application and if they wanted something multiplatform they should have taken GTK+ (or adopt GnuCash ;) )). 3) General ideas: Try to maximize the effect with the small 3.1) Translation of most commonly used desktop application to Hebrew. Translation of Gnome manual for Beginners. 3.2.1) Pilot migration of a heavily used governmental website to an open CMS like Drupal or Joomla. You will not support developing of a new open source project but rather employment of already existing things. In this way you may win 2 things (provided you'll create a good website): a) Israeli public's exposure to Open Source - they will be able to see the difference. b) if the government will be pleased they might start migrating to Open Source (and the person who will do the first project will probably benefit first).
