I got my workplace to switch from subversion to git about a year ago. Most
developers (everyone but me actually :-) work under Windows. We've found
GitExtensions to be more than sufficient as a GUI under Windows. A few
people have used tortoise git as well. The fact that GitExtensions is run
externally from VisualStudio and hasn't bothered anyone in the group so
far. Continuing using subversion because of this is like throwing out your
diamonds because they are dirty.
