We are looking for team player to the Data infrastructure team, the team is responsible for the big data services at conduit. The candidate will be part of the team and will be responsible of developing and operating a robust, scalable and easy to use data services, that will be used by the other teams at Conduit. The system is always on (24/7), which mean the "out of office first aid" is possible. The team is already using the cutting edge technologies in big-data including: Hadoop,Chef,HBase,Kafka. We are open minded for new technologies where fit, A passion for new [opensource] data technologies is more than welcomed Responsibilities: - Participate in architecture, design of interfaces to main components of the system. - Be the owner of major components of the software modules. Be responsible for coding, unit testing, debugging, performance testing and deployment of major components of the system. - Participate in design reviews, peer reviews and work according to the team development methodologies - Handle production issues and performance issues Requirements: - BSC or higher in computer science - 4 years Experience in Java server side development, practices and design patterns. - Comfortable integrating open source components - Strong JVM technologies experience: coding and maintaining. - Experience with distributed systems. - Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, HBase, Hive and other NoSql technologies is an advantage - Cloud development and deployment experience in Amazon AWS environment is an advantage - Experience with Chef and ruby is an advantage [/quote]
