As you may be aware, we have been working on putting up a new version of
Hamakor's planet (feed aggregator) on our new server.
The service is now up, except that DNS records still point at the old one. I
want the transition to be as smooth and transparent as possible for you all,
and for that I need a few brave souls who will do what I did:
- back up your feed-reader's data, at least for Hamakor's planet
- add the following entry to your /etc/hosts:
82.166.0.152 planet.hamakor.org.il
(indented for quoting, it should start at the beginning of the line)
- reload the feed, and see that nothing breaks (preferably: restart the
reader, to make it more likely that the updated IP address is used)
- report here that everything works for you, and of course if you see any
breakage.
The new server is running a new version of the planet software, which will
hopefully solve the problems reported here in the last few months.
