that solution only works when you do not have a paginated or sortable list.

i have a need to have checkboxes (and other input fields) within a paginated
and sortable list. so i have been working about 2 weeks now on a solution
to this. it is still a work in progress and i will submit it to the
community when i am done.

if you need this functionality immediately, i can send you my very alpha
work. checkboxes work, but i haven't tested anything else.

dr tolga yalcinkaya (a member of this mailing list) also has an
implementation of an editable table with selectable checkbox support. i am
quite certain he could help you also.
