I agree that this is a nice idea - but I don't know if we should
re-invent the wheel.  For instance, users can the Excel tag to create
Excel spreadsheets with JSP
(http://www.servletsuite.com/servlets/exceltag.htm) and the Pager taglib
can do pagination (http://jsptags.com/tags/navigation/pager/index.jsp).
