Message: The following issue has been resolved as FIXED.
Resolver: fabrizio giustina Date: Fri, 15 Oct 2004 6:19 PM Fixed in cvs. To avoid errors when nested tables are used, the current mediaType is no more declared as a compile-time variable. This means that you can still retrieve the current media type using pageContext.getAttribute("mediaType") but not using a scriptlet like <%=mediaType%>. Although some appservers handle duplicate declaration of variables at compile time, there is no strict specification about this. --------------------------------------------------------------------- View the issue: http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/DISPL-6 Here is an overview of the issue: --------------------------------------------------------------------- Key: DISPL-6 Summary: Error: mediaType is already defined Type: Bug Status: Resolved Priority: Major Resolution: FIXED Original Estimate: Unknown Time Spent: Unknown Remaining: Unknown Project: DisplayTag Components: Container Compability Fix Fors: 1.0 RC2 Versions: 1.0 RC2 Assignee: fabrizio giustina Reporter: fabrizio giustina Created: Tue, 21 Sep 2004 4:23 PM Updated: Fri, 15 Oct 2004 6:19 PM Description: ==== imported from sf tracker id 994355 submitted by Alejandro Velasco - avelasco http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&group_id=73068&atid=536613&aid=994355 ==== A Struts application correctly working over Tomcat 5.0, throws this error when trying to run it on Sun Web App Server 6.1, or Sun App Server 7.0. ------ ERROR --- WEB4000: Unable to compile class for JSPWEB4124: An error occurred at line: 32 in the JSP file: /jsp/niv4.jsp WEB4126: Generated servlet error: ===SERVER===\_jsps\_jsp\_niv4_jsp.java:418: mediaType is already defined in _jspService (javax.servlet.http.HttpServletRequest,javax.servlet.http .HttpServletResponse) org.displaytag.properties.MediaTypeEnum mediaType = null; --------- FOLLOWS VERY LONG STACK REMOVED ----- Reading users-mailing list I think it can be a bug trying to repair another one that claimed mediaType was not declared. What can be the difference between behaviours of Tomcat and Sun WebServer? I'm using displaytag-1.0-rc1, but with displaytag-1.0- b3.jar the behaviour is the same.
