I found a workaround to this issue that works OK for me. Basically, what you 
have to do is set the property attribute on the column. I was not using the 
property attribute because I was using EL to display all my values, which was 
working fine for me. Anyway, if you set the property attribute, then this 
attribute will be used for the sort. The sortName is completely ignored either 
way, so this is still a bug.
