Ben,

I'm not sure how much control you have over the List passed to the table. 
Can you just post-process the list and add that row to it (e.g.
myList.add(0, noneObject))?  The big problem with that would be dealing
with sorting it properly, I'd guess.

Outside of that, I don't really see any way to do this... sorry...
