It's bad design because once you leave a particular page, you can no longer tell what you have selected. Assuming that you have a large number of options to select (a pretty safe bet, since that's why you're paginating), that can lead to selecting some things, paging, selecting some things, paging, then... wait, what did I select on page 1? So page back to that and have to restore those selections, then page back two pages... how many pages ahead was I? Basically there's just no way to reference your selections. An accumulation table (i.e. one to the right that displays the selections you've made as you page along) both removes the particular programming problem of having to submit the form on page changes and sorts, and the problem of having to reset checkboxes as the user comes back onto the page where previously selected checkboxes are displayed. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum.
