That issue will be addressed in version 1.1.  See http://displaytag.sourceforge.net/11/tut_externalSortAndPage.html for more info.  I think you will need to download a development snapshot.

  I found the display tag work to me at most of situations, but there is a question still bother me, how to use pagniation with the huge result, i didnt want to get the all data into request or session in one time, I have read the maillist, but i didnt find any solution about it.

  Any tips or suggestions will be appreciated.
