I have tried 1.0 , 1.1 el and non el with the same results. My sample runs on every application server known to man exception Weblogic 9.x. I did some debugging and it looks like although it is going through the el tag code it never actually executes that code so the el expressions are never evaluated and the result of the name is a string rather than a list.
I will keep digging I was just hoping someone had found the trick with Weblogic. Scott D.
