Well, thanks, yes, I figured that out quite some time ago. My question
was more general: I see occasional postings on this list, and I know
that there's a bug database with bugs in it, but I don't see much talk
from code contributors about what's being fixed or any work being done
towards a new release of the software.

I'm not demanding anything - I (well, "we") have the wherewithal to
maintain our own fork of the library, fixing what minor bugs we find
in order go satisfy the needs of our own product. I just wonder what
the current development status is, and I suppose in particular whether
there is any likelihood that our local fixes might be desirable as
patches.
