I could be wrong but I do not think there is.  For most displaytag
customization that I end up doing, I use custom CSS with a displaytag
Decorator of some sort.  The decorator is probably not applicable in
your situation (as it is used for detail rows) but I would guess that
there is a class assigned to the header.  A last resort would be to use
javascript (I use the Prototype library) to dynamically adjust the DOM
to your liking on page load (probably not what you wanted to hear but a
fairly common thing I have to do also).
