It certainly depends upon your unique situation. If there is a huge amount
of data, and that is the reason you are wanting to page then do not use the
datatables, unless you use it with Ajax, but then you would probably not use
displaytag at all.
If that is the case you may want to look in some of the solutions of
combining displaytag with one of the javascript libraries. I did a quick
search on "displaytag ajax jquery" and found several examples.
