Martin,
I'm assuming you are the right person to get in touch with, no links on your webpage!
Anyways, wanted to let you know that there is a new Gentoo link for setting up distcc
with
Cygwin. You might want to update as the old links are all (or almost all) broken.
It's very
comprehensive and updated often:
http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=66930&highlight=distcc+howto
Addtionally, I'm keeping an up to date linux-cross.tar.bz2 around that is based on the
latest
and greatest toolchain for stable Gentoo. Currently this is glibc-2.3.2 / gcc-3.2.3 /
binutils-2.14.x.y.z(forgot) / distcc-2.8. It has everything one needs in one spot
allowing one
to do a base cygwin install and a single untar and a /usr/local/bin/distcc.sh to be
off and
running. I've also included the script to add distcc as a service. It currently
comes in at
around 28MB (bit larger than the other 22MB option, but uses a proper toolchain and is
i686-pc-linux-gnu). It can be found @
ftp://ftp.dympna.com/cross-linux-3.2.3.tar.bz2
This probably isn't a good place to publish it as many people are having issues
connecting to
this ftp server, but it exists. I'll be upgrading the cross-linux to distcc-2.9
tomorrow and
re-rolling.
Oh, and I'm looking forward to trying out the ,lzo as one of my host machines is my
wife's
laptop with distcc running as an XP service (so she'll never know!) but it's on
802.11b.
