I agree. Feel free to send a patch, otherwise I will try to do it for 2.10, in the next two weeks. If you can think of any other error reporting situations that are not handled well, please let me know. I'd like to do 2.10 later this week with this change and also the CVS fix that Frerich and Wayne (?) found.
