I suppose I would think about what is reasonable for the distribution
you're using.  If your users typically have GNOME installed, then use
it.  This is probably true for Red Hat.  If it's a mostly KDE-based
distribution then require only GTK.

Debian is a tough call -- I suppose most users have GNOME libraries
but many do not.  I suppose I would choose --with-gnome there to get
the best behaviour.
