Yes.  Interestingly, I wrote a patch to do the same thing ages ago, but I
think I never submitted it; clearly you're not alone in wanting this, so
it's worth including in the main distribution.

Well, there is at least one known issue with distccmon (see
http://code.google.com/p/distcc/issues/detail?id=36), but other than that, I
don't know off-hand.
