ijd, Additions like that (wildcard *) are meant for one time use with because it has huge hierarchy/tree beneath it. After that one time, on repeats you would only add entries for the portions you changed.
Your changes look like they should work for the most part but I had something similar before and IIRC it suffers from a upward recursion (as the current code on repeated runs, suffer from downward recursion). Its something i've been meaning to make more elegant and more all purpose. I will add a check for repositiory.db but an unexplained thing here is to not add new files that are beyond or pushes the size of the original image file. For that scenario a new appropriately sized image would have to be created.
