yup saw that post already. I guess another yes/no way of checking if things are sleeping is to check the "hd" command for temperature
Device Serial Vendor Model Rev Temperature ------ ------ ------ ----- ---- ----------- c0t0d0p0 u SanDisk Cruzer Micro 8.02 None c1t0d0p0 5QK00ECQ ATA ST3750330AS SD04 20 C (68 F) c1t1d0p0 WCAPT0366673 ATA WDC WD7500AYYS-0 4G30 25 C (77 F) c3t0d0p0 2GEVYWE5 Seagate FreeAgent 102D None c4t0d0p0 WMAVU3096894 WD Ext HDD 1021 2002 None clearly these disks are idle, but the WD doesn't spin down completely it appears from the temps, whereas the seagate does. normal operating temps are closer to 34C Can I apply this device-threshold to USB disks as well? c3 and c4 disks? -- This message posted from opensolaris.org _______________________________________________ distribution-discuss mailing list [email protected] http://mail.opensolaris.org/mailman/listinfo/distribution-discuss
