That makes sense, and it was what I thought had to have happened, but I could 
not run it down myself. Thanks for that - and all the other thoughtful work 
you've done on EON.

So for my education, restating what (I think!) is obvious:
- system logs/etc are kept only in memory at present, on the idea that the 
device will run 24/7 and that logs can be examined in memory.
- the design of EON already takes into account not doing a lot of writing to 
the boot disk so that it will not be worn out by repeated writing
