The nic is an add-on Intel board because I was having problems with the onboard 
nic when I initially set the box up.  I'm glad you mentioned that, because I 
think the initial problem I had with the on-board nic was very similar to this. 
 Seems like downloads were slow and would timeout.  I believe I posted on here 
and you helped me out then, so I will have to dig that out to see if the 
symptoms were the same.

The XBMC boxes have no local storage (only a CF card to boot), so I'm not sure 
what good it would do to run EON on them.  From a hardware testing standpoint, 
I see the benefit, but I have no spare HD's at this point, so I may have to 
wait on this option.

I found the issue with the name resolution.  My DHCP server's credentials were 
expired, and was not updating DNS as it handed out leases.  The ip of the box I 
was remote-ing into the EON matched the name populated in my DNS server, so 
that's the name that it resolved.  That is working like it should now.

I haven't ran the snoop yet.  I will attempt to do so tonight and post the file.

Any indication of why the dladm hangs each time just before the disk that I had 
fail?  Is that coincidence?
