I find myself in the same boat. When you click on any of the links for
distributing CD's it's like running around in circles. Lot's of
information about how to set up the directories on the CD, the rules you
have to follow, and cryptic codes for the types of files you are supposed
to use, but very little "get this file by clicking here" sort of stuff. I
know there are many versions of OOo available, but I feel like I'm hunting
for each file that I should be putting on the CD. Is there a mirror we can
go to that just has "the image" of a full blown CD

Go to *any* of the OO.o mirrors, and look for a sub-directory named
</contrib/>. In there you will find another directory named <iso> which
contains (usually) 2 further directories (<en> and <de>). These directories
contain a complete ISO image ready for burning (the <en> directory is the
English image, <de> is a German image). The name of the file is in the format
<ooo_[version]_[date]_[language]_[platform].iso (currently
ooo_114_20041221_en_allplatforms.iso).

The English ISO is available through BitTorrent (and will also be found on the
eDonkey network). A link to the torrent is provided on the CD landing page
(it's the lower button, labelled "Start BitTorrent Download". Assuming you
have a BT client installed, clicking on the button will start the download. I
might look at another button for eDonkey/eMule as well, at least for the next
ISO....

(maybe even if it's
just for the release of 2.0 coming up)?

There won't be a 2.0 ISO until a couple of days after the release of 2.0 (I
have to download the installers and documentation, and then compose the ISO,
then it has to be uploaded, which takes another 14 hours or so). It may be
necessary with the 2.0 release to produce 2 CDs, one with the installers and
basic documentation, the other with all the extras. Not sure yet, time will
tell....
