Hello,
My name is Jim Galvin. I am about to open up a
computer shop in Syracuse, NY. My expertise is going
to be turning customers on to open source alternatives
to over-priced MS software and how it performs as well
or better. All of my computer sales are going to be
dual-booting win98 and Linux and will include
OpenOffice.org on both OS's. I truly believe this will
be a major seller because I know people are tired of
viruses and expensive software. I plan on opening shop
in January 2006. I'd like to have OpenOffice.org CDs
available for sale as well. I also would like
permission to use the graphics for the CDs and
webpage. I'd also like to hang up your cool posters on
the walls in the business. I don't have the page up
yet, but when it is, the url will be
www.hjcomputers.com. The name of the company will be
H&J Computer Services. This email address is also
temporary as when I acquire hjcomputers.com domain,
email will go there also.
I have been converting myself to Linux and
OpenOffice.org for 3 years and I am now 99% Linux. I
believe open source has finally matured to the point
that normal computer users can easily use it as a
viable alternative. I believe this is where I am
supposed to fit in, to make a change in my corner of
the world towards open source, as I don't see very
many people doing it yet.
Thank you for your consideration.
Jim Galvin
