Precisely. For this reason, python2x.zip is on sys.path, allowing you to include the entire library (subset) in a single file. It may also be of convenience to users and local admins which have to install the same package across different machines, when the system vendor does not provide a package, but it appears that eggs are currently unfriendly to system vendors which want to include eggified packages in their own packaging system.
