Folks: Freshmeat.net now offers an XML-RPC API to submit project metadata and release announcements.
There is a client implementation by ESR in Python. http://freshmeat.net/articles/view/1048/ My wish is that I could install a setuptools plugin, and subsequently do "./setup.py upload freshmeat-submit" to announce new versions to both PyPI and freshmeat.net.
