So I just listened to the deployment roundtable and realized that there is another example out there for a "push button" deployment strategy. The PC-BSD project has developed a format to create instalable files that install into isolated directories. It utilizes, during the package build phase, the underlying packaging system to build the pbi. There are a bunch of other cool details but it "could" provide some ways forward to tackle this. Some links to info below. FYI- it is written in shell I believe: http://wiki.pcbsd.org/index.php/PBI9_Format http://wiki.pcbsd.org/index.php/PBI_Manager _______________________________________________ Distutils-SIG maillist - [email protected] http://mail.python.org/mailman/listinfo/distutils-sig
