I'm not sure this is a particularly relevant concern. Python's prior to 2.5 are no longer supported by the people who wrote them, or almost any major packages (SQLAlchemy, Django, pip, virtualenv, the list goes on and on). I'm not sure why we should expend any effort to support them either.
