Another place to look would be existing usage in distributions on PyPI. I know that Vinay has done some work on extracting build-time data from PyPI (the red-dove metadata repo) - I don't know if he has anything like this available. It's probably too much work to get if nobody has already done it as a side effect of something else, though...
