And just as I post that, I figure it out. Guess I will be doing the next build.

Cheers,
Steve

If I can get everything to build, that is... :-\ (it's not too bad - just the
64-bit installer giving me trouble, and Martin's helping out. 2.7.7's installer
may be late...)

On the bright side, Microsoft has apparently decided that building Python
installers for Windows makes good business sense, so they're fully supportive.
(Or maybe they just know it's a good way to keep me there for longer ;) )

Cheers,
Steve

Subject: [Distutils] ensurepip in Python 2.7

Hey all,

The next 2.7 release is coming up in a few weeks, and work is still needed on
getting the SSL infrastructure updated.

That release will likely also be the first one with Steve Dower at the helm for
the creation of the Windows installers.

Accordingly, I think it makes sense to leave proposing backporting ensurepip
until 2.7.8 in November at the earliest. (Fortunately, there's no pyvenv in
2.7, so unbundling for the Linux distros is much simpler)

Cheers,
Nick.
