Hello ditac users,

I’m quite new to ditac and still scoping out the tools and options.

Graphically, I _/love/_ the stylish ditac webhelp output, love that I
can include numbering in the sections and that I can chunk and unchunk
as I please. None of this is available in the Oxygen webhelp that I’m
also scoping.

However, our Marketing director prefers the Oxygen webhelp because It
has a very good relevancy ranking in the search panel. When I enter a
term, the tool displays the results by order of relevancy. Also, this
list is persistent: if I doubleclick to view one of the results, I keep
the search parameters and results in the search panel until I run
another search. In the ditac one, the search results clear every time I
view one of the results.

Well, I cannot reproduce this behavior using any the following browsers (used most recent versions):

Safari, FireFox, Google Chrome.

Which browser do you use?

If it's Google Chrome to test the Web Help generated *locally* on your hard disk then this behavior is normal (unless chrome is started with special option " --enable-file-cookies") and won't happen when you'll upload the Web Help to a Web server.

See https://github.com/carhartl/jquery-cookie/issues/232

However it's true that following a link in a page of the Web Help resets the "Search" pane.

Is there any way to get a relevancy ranking into the ditac output? I
know it’s a long shot, but perhaps one of those –p switches…

No. This is simply an omission. We'll implement this feature in the next release of ditac.

Thanks all,
