I am experimenting with topicrefs with @keyref, with keydefs that either have a 
regular @href or none. Different sets of keys will thus define different 
combinations of components, while using a single main map.

On http://www.xmlmind.com/ditac/_distrib/doc/manual/limitations.html you say:

Keyref processing

  *   The effective value of a topicref element having a keyref attribute is 
almost certainly not conforming as we have not really understood the spec.

A basic use of this mechanism works as expected, so could you elaborate on 
where you think it might be non-conformant? Possibly in the way that topicref 
attributes/metadata combine between the two (or more) topicrefs?
