Kurdish People in Syria is victim of chauvinist policy of Syrian government for many decades. Kurds are denied their basic human rights despite many local and international petitions to end this situation. This policy of discrimination is manifested in:
1-Stripping more than 300000 from their Syrian citizenship and other citizenship rights. 2-Under Arabic Band Project Kurds farms and land were confiscated and given to Arab farmers brought from central Syria. 3-Changing the historical names of Kurdish villages and towns into Arabic names, banning the Kurdish language and culture. 4-Persecution and illegal long terms imprisonment of Kurdish activists. 5-Indiscriminate killing of innocent Kurds in March 2004 and Newroz 2008. 6- Poverty and lack of development and basic services in Kurdish areas. Dear human rights and democracy defenders, your urgent solidarity and support is highly valued to help us to end the suffering and oppression of our people. Please urge Syrian government to: Investigation into the killing of 40 Kurds in 2004 and 2008, 40 Kurdish conscripts in military service. Ending of oppression of Kurds and abolishment of laws and projects targeting Kurds. Ending the persecution of opposition and human rights activists, release of political prisoners. Constitutional recognition of Kurdish identity and legitimate rights of Kurds.
