Presumably PowerSwitchII can't be used with the SB Radio's headphone
output? Did I read somewhere once that the muting of the speaker was
under software control (because the speaker goes through a different
circuit, to make it mono, than the headphone jack)? If so, perhaps a
revised version of PowerSwitchII could work?

In case you've not found it I came across an interesting article where
someone made their over battery pack which may have useful information
about the pin-outs

though it does look like the 3.3V is always on to me.
