If high end audio is not a requirement almost any USB dac will do the job if properly designed , factor in price and feature set . You be surprised how cheap they can be .
But do your research when finding a contender , there are simply bad designs out there NuForce uDAC-2 is one to be avoided for example it has serious design flaws . And if you dip your toes into the high end area design flaws can be a part of the feature set ! beware , in that case besides being expensive you might actually end up with worse performance than any generic Chinese USB dac . So in your case it's easier for us to mention product you should not buy than the other way around , you may simply find a dozen perfectly equal options just pick the one with the nicest colour or a physical design that appeals to you . Here are some advice http://nwavguy.blogspot.se/2011/02/gain-and-headphone-ampsdacs.html nwavguy has fine article about the uDAC-2 btw -------------------------------------------------------------------- Main hifi: Touch + CIA PS +MeridianG68J MeridianHD621 MeridianG98DH 2 x MeridianDSP5200 MeridianDSP5200HC 2 xMeridianDSP3100 +Rel Stadium 3 sub.
