Has anyone written an idiot step by step guide to getting a rotary encoder to control the volume? I have been through every post in this thread and many others besides and it still eludes me... I have tried using a Pi2 and a Pi 3B with nary a glimmer of sucess. I was intending to use it with an IQ audio amp, which works well as a kitchen picoreplayer. I've tried with versions 3.5, 4.1, 5 & 6 ... I'm confident I have the hardware/wiring correct, mostly I've been loading sbpd from the PCP extensions and trying all the scripts and configurations from this thread in turn both with and without the IQ card but clearly I'm still missing something fundamental. PCP runs every time but sucess with rotary (or IR) control. I had intended to get this going then add the IR control with a view to making a couple of these but despite the extra time I suddenly had as a result of coronavirus lockdown I'm at the point of giving up and reverting to a plain headless PCP....!
