Any Linux based system with a Wifi adapter should do, but you should probably skip searching for `access point` as this is bound to lead to devices to which you cannot attach a hard drive (for your music), is seriously limited in memory, and will likely not even allow you to SSH into. I use a somewhat older machine myself, based on a single core ARMv5 and just 512M RAM but it does the job without any issues (you shouldn't let it do transcoding though as this will affect its other duties and cause stuttering). Fun thing is that its original Debian Squeeze based OS came with LMS pre-installed which is what got me to invest in SB devices. I'd probably have never considered it otherwise.
There are newer devices with faster CPUs and more cores of course, but most of them require you to attach hard drives externally and I really dislike makeshift messes. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ gordonb3's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=71050 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=115338 _______________________________________________ diy mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/diy
