We are starting grocery stores in couple of US cities. We have finalized cloud PoS for those locations. We are checking if Oscar Commerce can be leveraged to implement our online sales channel. Can someone help answering following questions?
- Recommendations for hosts for the website, deploying Oscar Commerce in cloud. I have good experience with couple of implementations with Webfaction host but none of those implementations are storing customer credit card data and all. Overall, those implementations are not mission critical. Looking for a host where db backups, disaster recovery and such can be implemented relatively easily. - How difficult will it be to achieve and maintain PCI DSS compliance for self managed Oscar Commerce implementation in cloud? Anyone with the recent experience in US implementation would be helpful. - We are looking for B2C and B2B channels. Is it realistic to expect to make the website ready with more or less OOB features as the first cut in 2-3 months? We are 2 devs, 1 full-time and 1 part time on the team. We have decent experience with Python/Django stack, recently implemented one website with Django/Mezzanine CMS. - We are trying to start with PoS and Online channel, no dedicated ERP. We want to nail down and implement all the major flows with these 2 systems and then implement ERP later, if required. PoS most likely will become source of truth for products/inventory/customers. Expecting to write connectors for PoS and Oscar Commerce ourselves. Any gotchas there? - Any areas of concerns around Oscar Commerce releases/updates? Are the migrations generally smooth? - Can someone pls refer to few US retail implementations with Oscar Commerce?
