Comment:

start-interval and end-interval doesn't work for all situations. Suppose
you want to track "Amount of time spent driving in the past week" Unless
I'm misunderstanding your use of start-interval and end-interval, there
isn't an easy way to store this value with date/time fields. The real
bonus of intervals comes in when you are able to do computations with them
(such as "Amount of time spent driving in May" + "Amount of time spent
 driving in June")
