 It appears that the current cache tests only test the the cache backend
 that is set in the setting file.  We should probably change this to test
 the backend in the settings file along with all the other backends (except
 memcached).  memcached backend would only be tested if it's set in the
 settings file.  These tests might be something worth its own ticket, but
 at the very least there should be a test included with this ticket that
 covers the situation that was causing the traceback mentioned in the
 ticket description.
