Can we have a moratorium on uploading yet more changes to this ticket for
a few days, please?
I've started reading through a few of the patches carefully with an eye to
working out what parts look like they're ready to be committed. However,
this isn't going to work if every day there is yet another slight tweak to
something. It's going to take a few days to review all this carefully and
think about all the issues raised in the comments, so everybody just take
a deep breath and back away from the keyboards for a bit.
