 Hi,

 Thanks for the report, though what you've described is expected behaviour.

 If you'd like contrib.admin to access all clients then you'd need to use
 the default manager for that. If you disagree and believe that behaviour
 needs to change then it's best to start a discussion on the Django forum
 where you'll encounter a larger audience from which a decision can be made
 to update Django:
