#9225: Add a 'tussenvoegsel' / 'surname prefix' field to User class -----------------------------------------------------+---------------------- Reporter: [EMAIL PROTECTED] | Owner: nobody Status: new | Milestone: Component: Contrib apps | Version: 1.0 Keywords: user dutch tussenvoegsel surname prefix | Stage: Unreviewed Has_patch: 0 | -----------------------------------------------------+---------------------- Many Dutch and German names follow the pattern [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tussenvoegsel]:[[BR]]
Piet ''van der'' Sloot[[BR]] Ludwig ''von'' Beethoven[[BR]] For reasons of correct alphabetic ordering, capitalization and representation it is necessary to store the 'surname prefix' in a separate field. Right now this means extending the user class for even the most common cases. Thus the request to add a 'surname prefix' field to User class. I assume the implications for this feature are minimal, and it would be a great help. -- Ticket URL: <http://code.djangoproject.com/ticket/9225> Django <http://code.djangoproject.com/> The Web framework for perfectionists with deadlines. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Django updates" group.
