 Ok, quick fix in case someone runs across this. Start your management
 command like this:

 {{{
   from django.core.management.base import NoArgsCommand
   from django.utils import translation
   from django.conf import settings

    class Command(NoArgsCommand):
        def handle_noargs(self, **options):
            translation.activate(settings.LANGUAGE_CODE)
 }}}
