Ah, I see what you're asking now. Doing `get()` takes you through the same
code path. This patch changes the behavior to be consistent with how it
would be if you tried to do `get(some_boolean_field='foo')` and the
documentation is silent on what the proper response should be if the
argument is incorrect.
`ValidationError` comes from `django.core.exceptions` so it seems like its
fair game to be used here (and is used for the other fields). If one of
the committers feels its needed, I can try to add the behavior to the docs
in the appropriate places.
