 Could you try with PostgreSQL >= 8.4 ? I was using PostgreSQL 8.4.7 and
 psycopg2 2.3.2. Only reference to a similar problem I could find is:
 http://archives.postgresql.org/pgsql-general/2010-05/msg01126.php.
