Hi, according to
http://docs.djangoproject.com/en/1.1/howto/i18n/ Django automatically looks for localizations in $PROJECTPATH/locale/ <language>/LC_MESSAGES/django.(po|mo). When I installed language files in this location, however, they were found only after I added LOCALE_PATHS to settings.py.
